What you need to know

The Utah Supreme Court says 94 women can sue the Provo OB-GYN who they say assaulted them. Fourth District Judge Robert C. Lunnen dismissed the lawsuit in 2022. He said that describing the incidents alleged in the lawsuit as "appalling" would be an understatement, but that the cases should have been filed as medical malpractice cases. The state's Supreme Court justices disagreed and ruled with the plaintiffs that what Dr. Broadbent allegedly did was not healthcare but sexual assault, and is not covered by Utah's medical malpractice law. Dr. Broadbent denies wrongdoing but has agreed to stop practicing while the cases play out.

Rapid relevance

The Utah Supreme Court will hear arguments today in 2nd District GOP primary dispute about postmarks; Lehi ranked safest suburb in the US; and Costco is cracking down on membership moochers. No more sharing your card.
