BuySun d'or with Alternative Airlines
Sun d'Or is an Israeli airline brand, based at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport. The airline is a wholly owned subsidiary of El Al, the national flag carrier of Israel. Sun d'Or was established in 1977 as ‘El Al Charter Services Ltd’, before changing its name to Sun d’Or in 1981.
Sun d'Or Update: Sun d'Or is still operational as a brand of El AI. However, all of their flights are operated by El Al, as Sun d'Or's own license was suspended in 2011. Since then, Sun d'Or no longer operates its own aircraft, but uses planes from its parent airline.
El Al mainly uses the ‘Sun d'Or’ brand for seasonal scheduled and charter services mostly to international European destinations.

Baggage Policy
There's different baggage policies for checked baggage and carry-on baggage when flying with Sun d'or.
Carry-on Baggage
All passengers are entitled to complimentary carry-on baggage allowance. Each passenger can carry one bag, weighing up to 8kg. The bag must be stowed under the seat or in the overhead storage containers. The maximum size for carry-on baggage allowance is: 18x38x30 cm.
In addition to the one piece of carry-on baggage, passengers can also carry an additional personal item, such as a small handbag, wallet, camera, or diaper bag.
Checked Baggage
The checked baggage allowance will depend on the ticket fare selected.Passengers can upgrade their ticket fare to increase their checked baggage allowance, along with additional benefits. Passengers flying with a 'Travel Easy' ticket are only permitted a carry-on bag. Passengers flying with a 'Travel Packed' ticket can also take one checked-bag, which must not exceed 23 kilos.

Economy
What is seating like?
Seats are configured in a 3-3 formation, with plenty of storage space in the overhead storage containers and under the seats in front.
Facilities
In-flight duty-free shopping is available during the flight. Shop the latest perfume or watch while you fly. Light meals, snacks, and hot/cold beverages are available for purchase. There are W/C facilities available during the flight.
Ticket Fares
The airline offers two ticket fares, to help passengers select the option the best meets their needs. Passengers can choose between: 'Travel Easy', or 'Travel Packed'. The fare will determine how much baggage allowance is included in the price of the ticket.
Business
What is seating like?
Business Class provides greater privacy and personal space and is separated from the Economy Class seating by a partition.
Facilities
Business Class passengers will be served throughout the flight by a dedicated flight attendant, and will be the first passengers to embark and disembark the plane.
Ticket Fares
The airline offers two ticket fares, to help passengers select the option the best meets their needs. All passengers, including Business Class passengers, can choose between: 'Travel Easy', or 'Travel Packed'. The fare selected determine how much baggage allowance is included in the price of the ticket.
Check-In
Sun d'Or passengers can either check-in online before their airport arrival, or alternatively, once they've arrived.

Passengers can check-in for flights online through the El Al website.
Airport Check-in
Airport check-in opens from 3 and a half hours prior to scheduled departure. During peak periods, including the summer months and and holidays, the airline recommends arriving at the airport 4 hours prior to scheduled departure. Passengers should present themselves as the airline's check-in desks.

The airline is based at Ben Gurion Airport, the main international airport in Israel and the busiest airport in the country. Ben Gurion Airport is located on the northern outskirts of the city of Lod. The airport is considered to be among the best airports in the Middle East, thanks to its premium passenger experience. As well as being a hub for Sun D'Or and El Al, the airport is also a hub for the following scheduled passenger arlines: Arkia and Israir Airlines.

Fleet
Sun d'Or branded flights are operated by El Al, using two Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Each aircraft has a capacity of 189 passengers.
Frequent Flyer Programme
Matmid Club
As a subsidiary of El Al, passengers can collect El Al membership points. The program rewards regular passengers, letting passengers accumulate points when they fly. Passengers can spend points to purchase future flights and enjoy exclusive benefits and deals that are reserved only for Matmid members.
There are four tiers of membership: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Top Platinum. The higher the tier of membership, the greater benefits that passengers will receive.
